Is Coolsculpting for Me: Does Fat Freezing Work?
Since it’s FDA approval in 2010, Coolsculpting has grown in popularity to become one of the top non-invasive procedures in the U.S. for weight loss and fat removal. This growth is due to it’s proven safe and effective results. It has helped thousands of patients remove excess fat.
In a 2015 study in the Journal of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the authors found patients who received the Coolsculpting (fat freezing) procedure saw their fat reduce between 14.67 and 28.5 percent. These results show why Coolsculpting has become the most requested non-surgical alternative to surgical liposuction on the market.
How Does Coolscuplting Work?
This fast non-surgical procedure involves the use of a fat freezing technique called cryolipolysis to destroy fat cells with no injury to the skin. These cold temperatures work specifically on fat without damaging underlying tissues.
During the procedure, the skin is slowly suctioned and remains inside a chamber that treats the fat cells. Most treatments can be performed in 35 minutes to an hour. No downtime or recovery time is needed. You may feel a sensation in the treated area similar to a post-workout session.
Once the procedure is finished, you will be able to leave and go about your daily tasks normally. Your fat cells will be starting to be destroyed from the treatment and slowly absorbed by your lymphatic system to then be taken out of your body. The effects should be noticeable in about 1-3 months.
